Newcastle weigh options as clubs circle
Newcastle are one of the clubs interested in Šeško as they look to strengthen their attack ahead of the new season.
The Magpies have not made an official offer yet but with uncertainty surrounding Alexander Isak’s future, Šeško is being considered as a long-term replacement.
Reports from England suggest Newcastle would be willing to spend big on a player like Šeško but the club also need to be careful with their spending to stay within Profit and Sustainability Rules.
At the moment there is no agreement, however, internal discussions are currently taking place regarding a potential move.
Arsenal were previously linked with Šeško and had preliminary talks but have since shifted their focus to other attacking targets including Sporting CP’s Viktor Gyökeres.
In the past, Chelsea and Manchester United were also mentioned as clubs that were interested but neither club has made an official offer.
Leipzig have left the door ajar for the sale, but are under no pressure and do not have to sell unless someone meets their price. They are standing firm because they believe in Šeško’s long term value and he’s a key player for them.
