During media on Thursday, Marsh said he's confident that the Spartans filled in the missing offensive pieces from 2024-25. When asked about overlooked players in particular, though, the wide receiver had one answer he immediately turned to.

"Evan Boyd, Evan Boyd, Evan Boyd," Marsh said confidently.

The rising sophomore said that he and Boyd play a very similar game.

"And I feel like some of the things I did last year he's going to well exceed that," Marsh said, "so I feel like he's going to be the big elephant in the room that nobody knows about."

Marsh was an immediate impact player for Michigan State as a freshman in 2024, and Boyd's spring and offseason work is setting him up to have the same effect.

The redshirt sophomore transfer from Central Michigan started the first eight games for the Chippewas before he was ruled out with an injury for the remaining four. He had 21 catches for 302 yards and two touchdowns. The wideout led the team in the first two-thirds of the season, and eventually finished second on the team in receptions and third in receiving yards.

While this is only roughly half of what Marsh accomplished as he had 41 receptions for 649 yards, that doesn't mean Boyd won't be an asset for quarterback Aidan Chiles when it comes to offensive options. If the Central Michigan transfer can remain healthy, it won't just be Marsh, Kelly, and McCray getting all the attention on the perimeter.
