Bayern Munich News: FC Bayern’s summer cut list revealed; Inter Milan eyeing ex-Bayern star; A successor to Luis Díaz?; and MORE!

FC Bayern could face some big changes inthe summer.

Bayern’s summer cut list (Abendzeitung)

Bayern Munich will have a decent amount of change in the summer of 2026.

Sure, there will be the normal loan moves for young players, but the Bavarians will experience the loss of at least four first-team level players once July hits. Let’s take a look at what Abendzeitung says about the respective futures of Leon Goretzka, Sacha Boey, João Palhinha, and Nicolas Jackson:

Leon Goretzka

Leon Goretzka, however, is facing a permanent transfer. The 30-year-old’s contract is expiring, and as the AZ has learned, Bayern will not offer him a new one. Atlético Madrid and AC Milan are among the clubs reportedly interested in Goretzka. Tom Bischof could take Goretzka’s place in midfield, where Joshua Kimmich and Aleksandar Pavlovic are already established.

Sacha Boey

The right-back moved from Galatasaray in Istanbul to Munich in January 2024 for a hefty €30 million, a sum that seems far too high in hindsight. Boey never progressed beyond the status of a squad player, and recently, disciplinary issues have come to light . Will Bayern now receive at least €10 or €15 million for Boey? The transfer window is open until February 2nd, and the club is working diligently to find a buyer.

João Palhinha

From the summer onwards, he’ll be at a different club. A good World Cup performance could help Goretzka secure a place. The same applies to the Portuguese player João Palhinha, currently on loan from Bayern Munich to Tottenham Hotspur. The 30-year-old, originally signed from Fulham for €50 million, is set to return to Bayern; his contract runs until 2028. However, Palhinha has no future in Munich, and he has also lost his starting position at Spurs.

Nicolas Jackson

The 24-year-old joined Bayern on loan from Chelsea this summer, and the Munich club could sign him permanently for €65 million after the season.

According to AZ, the bosses are unwilling to pay that price, and Jackson will likely return to Chelsea. Kompany already has a world-class striker in Harry Kane, and a backup could be added. Jackson, who has scored five goals in 18 games, has so far failed to live up to expectations.

There will be change during the summer and with these four subtractions, it will be interesting to see how or if Bayern Munich’s backfills these roster spots.

Bayern Alumni: Inter to make play for Perišić (Gazzetta dello Sport via ESPN)

Inter Milan could be looking to make a move for PSV Eindhoven winger and former Bayern Munich treble winner, Ivan Perišić:

PSV Eindhoven are reluctant to let winger Ivan Perisic join Internazionale, but the Nerazzurri’s chances of completing a deal could improve if PSV don’t reach the Champions League playoffs.

Remember how great of a fit Perišić was under Hansi Flick?

Is Diomande the post-Díaz plan? (Sport Bild’s Christian Falk)

Bayern Munich might have already identified RB Leipzig’s Yan Diomande as the eventual successor to Luis Díaz:

Yan Diomande is very highly rated at Bayern Munich, and they would like to have this player. FC Bayern want to sign a rival for Luis Diaz on the left. They want a young player – he fits the bill as a 19-year-old talent. However, they need someone who would be okay with not having regular minutes on the left flanks, as Lucho is currently the out-and-out starter for that position. They need someone who will be there for the long term.

Oliver Mintzlaff, a managing director at Red Bull, has been very clear about how much money they’d be looking to get for Diomande. He said, “We won’t sell him for €80m, we won’t sell him for €90m” – which means they’ll just try to sell him for over €100m [£87m]. There are rumours that Liverpool are thinking about such a deal and that there will be an offer in the next month of this range. What I can say for sure is that €100m is too expensive for FC Bayern for a player who would not yet be in the starting-XI.

At 29-years-old and with a contract that runs through 2029, Díaz appears to have quite a few good years left and is likely in no rush to leave Bavaria. Would Diomande be willing to wait a bit before playing a starring role? That does not seem like something he would be interested in given the way he is currently playing for RB Leipzig.

United building list of targets (ESPN)

Manchester United will be looking for a replacement for Casemiro, who is leaving the club during the summer:

Following Manchester United’s announcement that Casemiro will leave Old Trafford when his contract expires this summer, The Daily Mail has reported that LA Galaxy is one of the clubs to have shown an interest in signing the midfielder. The 33-year-old reportedly has interest from the Saudi Pro League, Brazilian Serie A and MLS, but his preference is to remain in Europe, according to ESPN Brasil. Sources have also told ESPN that Nottingham Forest’s Elliot Anderson, Crystal Palace’s Adam Wharton and Brighton & Hove Albion’s Carlos Baleba are three of United’s options to replace him.

BVB loses Chelsea loanee (Fabrizio Romano)

Borussia Dortmund will have one less option off its bench as Chelsea FC recalled center-back Aarón Anselmino from his loan in Germany:

Leverkusen getting better (Sky Germany’s Florian Plettenberg)

Bayer Leverkusen has reportedly acquired goalkeeper Jonas Omlin on loan from Borussia Mönchengladbach:

Omlin, a very solid goalkeeper, was stuck behind Moritz Nicolas at Gladbach. With Mark Flekken injured and potentially missing two months or more, Omlin should battle Janis Blaswich for playing time.
