A great first quarter gave way to a less than stellar second quarter, and yet the Seahawks still lead.
It was a dream start for the Seattle Seahawks on both sides of the ball in the NFC Championship Game. The defense forced a three-and-out against the Los Angeles Rams, while the offense finally got that explosive pass play to Rashid Shaheed, followed by an eventual Kenneth Walker III touchdown run. Of course, these aren’t the San Francisco 49ers, so the game wasn’t ever going to be that easy.
The Rams took the lead 13-10 after three consecutive scoring drives, including a Kyren Williams touchdown on a blown coverage. After the Seahawks and Rams traded three-and-outs in the two-minute drill, Sam Darnold delivered a surgical 6-play, 74-yard drive in just :34. Jaxon Smith-Njigba was left alone for the go-ahead touchdown. He has 7 catches for 115 yards and a score.
17-13 Seahawks at the break.
