Rumored Bayern Munich target Nico Schlotterbeck reveals more about contract decision at Borussia Dortmund

Hopefully this saga does not become as obnoxious as Griezmann's The Decision.

The longer Nico Schlotterbeck’s contract talks at Borussia Dortmund drag on, the more the vultures will circle and lick their lips at the prospect of signing one of Die Schwarzgelben‘s leading players. But drag on they still do, as the Germany international’s contract continues to near its’ expiry in 2027. Asked about his decision by Sky Sport and reporter Patrick Berger shortly after Dortmund won 3-0 away against Union Berlin and cut down Bayern Munich’s lead at the top of the table, Schlotterbeck had this to say: “I have set myself a deadline. I will not reveal when that is. But it is definitely before the summer. I feel happy here, it will not be an easy decision. I rely on my gut. I will sit down with Dad and [brother and fellow Bundesliga player] Keven and make a decision. I do not know now what it will be.”

Bayern, who have been fairly concretely linked with Schlotterbeck for a while, will certainly hope the decision will be made against their Bundesliga rivals and ideally for them. But plenty of other clubs want the Germany internationl, too, so it will not be easy.
