Germany defender Nico Schlotterbeck has said he will set himself a decision deadline before the summer on his future at Borussia Dortmund.
Schlotterbeck, 27, has been at Dortmund since 2022 and has a contract until 2027 at the second-placed Bundesliga club who want him to stay.
"I think I will set myself a deadline at some stage," Schlotterbeck told Sky TV after Dortmund's 3-0 victory at Union Berlin on Saturday night.
"I trust my gut feeling. I will make a decision one day but I won't tell you when the deadline will be."
Schlotterbeck said he would reach a decision before the summer, together with his father and his brother Keven Schlotterbeck, who plays for Bundesliga rivals Augsburg.
Schlotterbeck has been linked with a move to German champions Bayern Munich, who however also want to renew the contract of centre back Dayot Upamecano beyond the season.
Dortmund hope that Schlotterbeck will stay, with managing director Lars Ricken saying that not many defenders manage to become a face of a club.
"In times when more and more players are changing clubs at an ever faster pace, it would of course be an outstanding sign," Ricken said.
"Here at BVB, we had Mats Hummels and Jürgen Kohler. And so, naturally, we hope and wish that he will stay with us."
