Cherry Valley, Ill. (WTVO/WQRF) — Hononegah’s bowling team will lead a group of local bowlers that will compete at the IHSA Boys State Bowling Tournament next weekend at St. Clair Bowl near St. Louis.
Saturday, the Indians won the local Rockford East Sectional at the Cherry Bowl in Cherry Valley. The Indians finished 411 pins ahead of runner-up Sycamore. 12 teams were in the field. The top four advance to State. Freeport finished third and Huntley fourth.
The top individual bowler was Harlem sophomore Ben Dahle. He had a six-game total of 1474 (245.66 avg.) He advances to state next weekend as an individual. Rockford Jefferson senior Lukas Marinelli, Oregon freshman Rylann Delehanty, and South Beloit senior James Strong are other local bowlers who advanced to state individually.
