Inter Milan have revived their pursuit of Hajduk Split youngster Branimir Mlacic as the club push ahead with plans to secure one of Croatia’s most promising defenders.

After briefly stalling, negotiations have reopened in recent days, with the Nerazzurri determined not to let the opportunity slip away.

The talks appeared close to collapse earlier this month following changes behind the scenes, including a switch in representation.

However, Inter quickly reassessed the situation and moved to restore contact. The club see Mlacic as a long-term investment and want to build on recent recruitment in the region.

According to Sportitalia, via FCInterNews, Inter are ready to offer around €5 million for the 2007-born defender.

The proposed plan includes allowing Mlacic to remain in Croatia on loan until the end of the season, ensuring regular minutes and continued development.

Mlacic, who now works with agent Fali Ramadani, has impressed scouts with his physical profile and composure beyond his years.

Inter believe the defender fits their strategy of targeting elite young talent before market values escalate.

The renewed push comes shortly after Inter finalised the signing of Leon Jakirovic from Dinamo Zagreb, reinforcing the club’s growing focus on the Croatian market.

That deal has encouraged confidence within the board as they pursue Mlacic with similar conviction.

For now, Inter remain patient but proactive. They want clarity soon and aim to close the operation without further disruption.

If negotiations progress as planned, the Nerazzurri could secure another highly rated prospect to strengthen their future defensive core.
