Beto could be on his way out of Everton in the final weeks of the winter transfer window. Recent reports have linked the striker with clubs in Turkey.

Fenerbahce and Besiktas are believed to be among the clubs interested in the Guinea-Bissau international. Local sources in Turkey have reported that the former made an offer to Beto and his representatives, with the player’s agent even flying to Istanbul in recent days.

It should also be mentioned that the Toffees had also explored the option of signing Youssef En-Nesyri from Fenerbahce, and a swap deal could probably be on the cards. However, the Moroccan international doesn’t seem keen on moving to England.

In recent hours, though, reports in Turkey have also suggested that Fenerbahce have walked out of the deal after being unable to reach an agreement with Everton over the signing of Beto.

Yagiz Sabuncuoglu of the Sports Digitale reports, “Fenerbahçe's loan offer for Beto was rejected. Fenerbahçe also turned down Everton's proposal to 'swap Beto for En-Nesyri head-to-head' due to Nesyri. When Everton demanded 20 million euros for Beto, Fenerbahçe walked away from the table!”

Beto has fallen down the pecking order for David Moyes following the arrival of Thierno Barry. He has only made two starts since November and has scored only three goals in all competitions this season.

Moyes was quizzed about the club receiving a bid for Beto in the pre-match press conference before facing Leeds United, to which he replied, “I know nothing about that at the moment, no. We wouldn’t because we haven’t got enough. I don’t know anything about it.”

While the manager has denied the speculation publicly, it is no secret that Everton are exploring the option of signing a striker in the remaining days of the window. Wilson Isidor, Callum Wilson, Jorgen Strand Larsen and Jean-Phillippe Mateta have all been linked with the club in recent days and the injury to Jack Grealish might force the Toffees to bring in another attacker.
