ROCK RAPIDS, IOWA (KELO) — The West Lyon and Central Lyon basketball teams split their doubleheader in Rock Rapids Friday night with the Lion girls and Wildcat boys prevailing.
The girls game was a ranked battle as No. 2 Central Lyon beat No. 9 West Lyon 58-49. The two teams were deadlocked at 10 after one quarter. The Lyons outscored the Wildcats by identical 15-11 scored in the second and third.
The boys game was much more lopsided as West Lyon routed Central Lyon 85-40. The Wildcats won every quarter and led 42-23 at halftime before outscoring the Lions 31-10 in the third.
