Birmingham City have completed the signing of Liverpool defender Hannah Silcock on a loan deal for the remainder of the season.

WSL Full-Time were informed of the news via an official club press release from Blues this afternoon.

The 21-year-old centre-back joins Birmingham City in a bid to get regular first team football to further her development.

Silcock is a product of the Liverpool academy system and she made her senior debut for the club during their Barclays WSL2 title-winning season in 2021/2022. The youngster has benefited from further opportunities with The Reds while she also gained experience whilst on loan at Blackburn Rovers two seasons ago.

On the international stage, Silcock has represented England at various youth levels up to Under-23 level.

After joining Birmingham City on loan, Silcock said “It’s really exciting to be here. It’s been on the back of my mind for a while and I’ve been really looking forward to it. I’m happy to be at Birmingham City.

“I spoke with Amy [Merricks] and Hope [Powell] and the project around the club feels really exciting and really ambitious. It matches everything I believe in, so it was a no-brainer.

“I want to get as many minutes as possible, improve myself and help get Birmingham back into the WSL.”

Silcock could go straight into the Birmingham City squad for tomorrow’s Barclays WSL2 fixture at Portsmouth.
