A member of the summer recruitment list at La Liga champions Barcelona has on Sunday come in for widespread praise online.
The player in question? Joan García.
Goalkeeper Joan was for his part afforded a first-ever appearance in Barcelona colours this evening.
After the Blaugrana made the trip to Japan for the first leg of their pre-season tour of Asia, they kicked things into gear with a friendly clash against Vissel Kobe.
The aforementioned Joan was in from the off for the fixture, taking to the pitch in his new no.1 jersey.
And as alluded to above, across his 45-minute stint, the 24-year-old left an altogether positive impression on his new club’s fans.
En route to an eventual 3-1 victory, Joan showed off his stellar reflexes on more than one occasion. This came by way of a number of impressive saves.
The Barca faithful, in turn, have since moved to lavish praise on their side’s summer addition, with Joan having been labelled a ‘beast’ online:
