Bulls Have No Interest in Trading Key Guard to Warriors in Potential Jonathan Kuminga Deal

The Chicago Bulls reportedly have no interest in trading one of their key guards to the Golden State Warriors in a potential deal involving Jonathan Kuminga.

The saga between the Golden State Warriors and young guard Jonathan Kuminga has continued throughout the NBA offseason and as of now, there are no signs of an end to it.

Of course, Kuminga is a restricted free agent and after falling out of Steve Kerr’s rotation last season after the Warriors acquired Jimmy Butler, it appears as though Kuminga’s time in Golden State is coming to an end.

If that is the case, the Warriors will have to work out a sign-and-trade deal with another team to move on from him and their current asking price is high for many teams around the NBA.

Despite this there have been multiple teams linked to Kuminga, including the Chicago Bulls.

For the Bulls, they have many players that they could throw into a potential trade for Kuminga but according to ClutchPoints’ Brett Siegel, Coby White is off limits.

“If the Bulls are to pursue Kuminga, they won't be getting rid of guard Coby White to do so, sources said. It has been made clear the Bulls hold no interest in trading White, and it's also unlikely Golden State would pursue veteran center Nikola Vucevic in a sign-and-trade for Kuminga,” Siegel wrote. “As a result, players like Ayo Dosunmu and Jalen Smith loom large as potential assets Chicago can offer up for Kuminga.”

Not only did Siegel mention that the Bulls have no interest in trading White, but the Warriors also are unlikely to pursue Vucevic despite being linked to the veteran center for the last few seasons.

Because of this, Chicago would likely have to send a package centered around Dosunmu and possibly Smith or another young player for the Warriors to accept their offer for Kuminga.

While that could be the case, that would be a large price for the Bulls to pay, especially with them dealing with their own restricted free agent in Josh Giddey.

Due to this, the Bulls may not pursue Kuminga this offseason unless the Warriors lower their asking price for him.
