Hansi Flick talks Pedri’s fitness, Marc-André ter Stegen’s exit, and Roony Bardghji ahead of Slavia Prague clash

The coach spoke to the press in Prague

Barcelona manager Hansi Flick spoke to the press on Tuesday ahead of Wednesday’s crucial Champions League match away to Slavia Prague.

Barça need all three points to keep their slim hopes of a Top 8 finish alive, and Flick spoke about the availability of Pedri and Raphinha, the form of Roony Bardghji who could replace the suspended Lamine Yamal on Wednesday, and the soon-to-be confirmed exit of Marc-André ter Stegen, who’s set to join Girona on loan until the end of the season.

Here’s the best from Flick’s quotes:

Pedri

“After the game he told me he was fine, and yesterday too. He’s one of our most important players. He and De Jong play at a very high level in midfield.”

Roony

“He’s played very well in the matches he’s played. When he’s been on the pitch, he’s performed very well. His position isn’t easy because it’s the position Lamine plays. We’ll see if he plays tomorrow. I hope Raphinha can play tomorrow.”

Ter Stegen

“Is it confirmed yet? Balde confirmed it (laughs). This morning Marc told us he’s going to Girona. He’s a great goalkeeper and we wish him all the best. He’s a magnificent goalkeeper and he needed to play to be able to go to the World Cup this summer.”
