Ruben Amorim has picked his first starting XI of Manchester United’s US tour this summer, and it has a few surprises.
Many expected Bryan Mbeumo to feature from the start, but fans will have to wait until the next match to see the new signing in action, as he is not included in the squad. He is not yet fit enough.
Defence
Altay Bayindir is in goal. Tom Heaton is the backup keeper.
The centre backs are Leny Yoro, Matthijs de Ligt and Ayden Heaven.
Harry Maguire is available having joined up late. He is joined on the bench by Luke Shaw, Tyler Fredricson and Reece Munro.
Noussair Mazraoui is not included in the squad after picking up a knock.
Amad and Patrick Dorgu are the wing backs.
Diogo Dalot, Bendito Mantato and Diego Leon are second half options.
Midfield and Attack
Kobbie Mainoo and Manuel Ugarte are the central midfield pairing for today’s game.
Casemiro, Toby Collyer, Jack Fletcher and Sekou Koné are on the bench and will all be hoping to see some action in the second half.
Up front, Bruno Fernandes and Matheus Cunha flank Rasmus Hojlund. It’s also possible that Fernandes will play in central midfield with Mainoo as one of the 10s.
Josh Zirkzee is back in training but still not fit enough to take part. Chido Obi will probably get minutes in the second half.
Mason Mount, Ethan Williams and the versatile Mantato are other forward options who may get second half minutes.
Here, then, is the full starting XI:
