Manager Oliver Glasner has decided to leave Crystal Palace at the end of the current season when his contract expires.

Glasner’s relationship with the Palace hierarchy has broken down, largely due to their transfer policy.

According to the BBC, Palace are one of the host of clubs ‘keeping abreast of Andoni Iraola’s situation heading into next season’.

The Spaniard’s contract at Bournemouth expires at the end of the season, and the Cherries have yet to make progress on extending his deal, despite talks with owner Bill Foley last April.

Iraola is considered one of the best coaches in the Premier League. He guided Bournemouth to a ninth-placed finish last term and a club-record top-flight points tally of 56.

With Bournemouth losing several players in the past two transfer windows, Iraola could now be open to a new challenge away from the Vitality Stadium.

The former Rayo Vallecano manager is understood to favour ‘stability, coupled with a directive to build a team in his mould’ — factors likely to influence his next move.

He is unlikely to get those guarantees at Palace, given their track record of selling key players — most recently Marc Guehi to Manchester City.

With Manchester United looking for a permanent manager and the likely vacancies at Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool, Iraola will be aiming to join a club further up the ladder than Palace if he leaves Bournemouth.
