Recently, Franklin took to the podium at Big Ten Media Days in Las Vegas to voice his displeasure with the event's new Las Vegas location, a departure from the league's usual position that left a bad taste in the Nittany Lions coach's mouth.
"Penn State's James Franklin is not a fan of Big Ten Media Days in Las Vegas," reporter Max Brennan of Lions247 wrote on X, sharing a video of his complaint.
Franklin noted a major change from Midwest based events to the league's new choice of location.
"A lot of our beat writers did not come to this because they couldn't afford to get out here," Franklin said.
"And the majority of our teams are now Chicago where this used to always be; a majority of our teams are near Indianapolis where this used to be, and it creates a different environment."
Franklin noted the lack of signage around the lobby of Big Ten Media Days as well as the lack of people getting autographs from coaches and players.
"It's a different vibe and it's a different feeling."
