There is an obvious fan favorite to win the National Championship between Indiana and Miami.
We’re very close to getting this nightmare over with — or maybe started — I don’t know, but the National Championship Game between the Indiana Hoosiers and Miami Hurricanes is being played on Monday night.
We’ve seen a number of Notre Dame fans talk about not watching or paying attention to the college football playoff after the Irish were snubbed by a committee that essentially had the fix in for a few weeks. I am definitely not one of those people, and have just told myself this was college football college footballing (over and over again as I rock myself in the corner of a padded room).
When these games happen, I generally try to look at them from a Notre Dame perspective, and pull for whichever team makes the most sesnse for the Irish… but sometimes, that part of it doesn’t really matter. With Indiana vs Miami, it’s pretty hard to find a reason to cheer for either school — but Indiana is really sticking out as America’s choice.
It’s pretty funny though. Usually in these types of games, most fans are pulling for the underdog, but according to FanDuel Sportsbook, Indiana is an 8.5 point favorite over Miami with an over/under of 47.5.
That’s a big enough spread to think that a lot of fans would take Miami and the points, but in our recent survey, 77% of fans are looking for Indiana to cover.
We will find out tonight how this all goes down. The National Championship game is at 7:30 PM EST on multiple ESPN channels.
