Bayern Munich star Michael Olise starts 2026 on fire

Olise has three goals and five assists in first three matches of the year; contributing a goal per 24 minutes

Bayern Munich is on a historic pace, gathering points and goals like it is nobody’s business. As the calendar flipped over to 2026, nobody has had a hotter start than Bayern’s Michael Olise. In the three league matches this year so far he has already scored three goals and created five more!

January started with a barrage on Wolfsburg that included two goals and an assist, helping Bayern win 8-1 in their first match back from the winter break. mid-week, Olise was upset with himself — and some were even saying it was an off day for the Frenchman — but he still had a crucial assist in a close match on the road against FC Köln.

Olise had about the best sub appearance that we have seen in a long time against Leipzig on Saturday. He came off the bench and in 34 minutes, Olise contributed to the rest of the goals. Moments after coming on he set up a brilliant Kane goal. It took a while, but in the 81st minute he set up Tah’s goal from the corner. Almost directly after that Kane sent a great ball from Bayern’s end to Olise darting down the wing. He picked up his head and found Pavlovic for a tap in and his third assist. Bayern continued to attack and when the ball fell to Musiala, he used his first touch of the season to assist an awesome Olise goal to cap off the scoring and three assists and a goal for Olise off the bench.

This begs the question: is this the best bench performance we have seen from a Bayern player since Robert Lewandowski’s five goals in nine minutes? Either way it was a clinical performance for Olise to cap of an impressive three matches in seven days to start out the calendar year.
