Browns head coach search: Team eliminates a candidate from their list

Cleveland Browns GM Andrew Berry continues the head coach search with Jim Schwartz interviewing again, Tommy Rees out

The Cleveland Browns head coach search is off and running, with two more interviews taking place on Friday and another on Saturday. While John Harbaugh and the New York Giants haven’t come to an official agreement yet, most likely the top candidate is off the market already. Matt LaFleur and the Green Bay Packers haven’t found common ground on a contract yet, either, which creates an interesting idea of a coach trade for Cleveland.

While they finish their initial virtual interviews, the Browns have already started making decisions for which coaches will get second interviews.

Now, along with Harbaugh, it seems Cleveland has crossed their own offensive coordinator, Tommy Rees, off the list of potential head coaches, according to Mary Kay Cabot:

He was their second interview for the job on Jan. 8, right after Browns offensive coordinator Tommy Rees, who is not expected to interview a second time for the position, a source told cleveland.com.

As Cabot notes, it is unlikely that Rees will return to the Browns in any role at this point. Joining former Cleveland HC Kevin Stefanski if he gets hired by a team with a head coaching opening.

How do you feel about Rees not only eliminated from the head coach search but likely done with the Browns altogether?
