Persephone has officially signed a dual contract with AEW and CMLL, a major move confirmed during the January 15, 2026, episode of CMLL Informa. While she is now “All Elite,” reports indicate that AEW was not the only promotion seeking her services.

WWE reportedly maintained a significant interest in the 24-year-old standout dating back to last summer. According to Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE’s interest was sparked by Persephone’s performance at the Forbidden Door event in London on August 24, 2025.

Representing CMLL, she competed in a high-stakes four-way match for the TBS Championship against Mercedes Moné, Bozilla, and Alex Windsor. Though Moné retained the title with a roll-up pinfall, Persephone’s poise—including hitting a Razor’s Edge on the towering Bozilla—reportedly caught the eye of WWE scouts.

The Texas native’s rapid rise continued throughout late 2025, highlighted by a CMLL World Title challenge against Mercedes Moné on October 17. The match drew 9,500 fans to Arena México, marking the highest attendance for an all-women’s wrestling show in years.

Meltzer noted that she “turned the corner” with this performance, which was followed by her winning the 2025 CMLL Women’s International Grand Prix on October 24 after pinning AEW’s Thekla in the final. Despite her recent momentum, Persephone has been out of action for a few weeks due to an injury, though she remains a key part of the dual-roster plans for 2026.

AEW also signed other stars. It was announced Wednesday night on the Maximum Carnage edition of Dynamite that former NXT and TNA World Tag Team Champions The Rascalz, a group comprised of Dezmond Xavier, Zachary Wentz, Trey Miguel, and Myron Reed, would soon be debuting with the promotion. It’s unclear what the promotion has planned for them.

That’s not all. Hechicero and Máscara Dorada have also been signed to dual contracts with AEW and CMLL. It’s unclear whether more talent signings are planned.
