Rumour Mongering: Spurs Wanted Jones Before Gallagher Deal

The midfielder will have one year left on his deal this summer.

Tottenham signing Conor Gallagher really shouldn’t have anything to do with Liverpool FC, but a reply from Spurs reporter Paul O’Keefe to a question about Spurs potentially signing a progressive passer in midfield has revealed that Curtis Jones was on their shortlist of potential transfers.

It’s not been highlighted much in the Liverpudlian press, but yes, Curtis will have a year remaining on his deal entering next season. It’s a contract that should be sorted, as Jones is basically the first midfielder Arne Slot turns to when one of Szoboszlai, Mac Allister or Gravenberch can’t play, which we’ve learned… is pretty often! He’s basically a starting midfielder at any other club, and Spurs certainly think so. I would like to see some movement on this and have it sorted before we go into next season with another contract renewal “will he or won’t he saga” on our hands.
