Virginia Tech football: Penn State CB Kenny Woseley Jr. transfers to Hokies

The Hokies add more defensive back help, as Kenny Woseley Jr. announces his transfer to Virginia Tech.

After a wild weekend, which saw eight players commit to Virginia Tech, followed by another on Monday, it was a quiet Tuesday for the Hokies. So, head coach James Franklin went back to work on Wednesday, landing a commitment from Penn State cornerback Kenny Woseley Jr.

Woseley is a 5-foot-10, 180-pound cornerback from Philadelphia, where he played at Imhotep Institute Charter High School. A 3-star recruit in the 2024 recruiting class, Woseley redshirted his first year. In 2025, Woseley played in all 13 games, finishing with 10 tackles and one pass defensed. He started one game. Woseley played nickel for the Nittany Lions and that figures to be his home with the Hokies.

Isaiah Brown-Murray played nickel for Virginia Tech last season and returns in 2026. Woseley had significant interest from Power 4 schools since entering the portal, but he appeared set to be joining Franklin in Blacksburg the entire time.

Woseley is one of 11 former Penn State players who’ve transferred to Virginia Tech since the transfer portal opened on January 2.

In addition to signing a top 25 recruiting class, Franklin has signed the No. 3 transfer class so far, per On3.
