Vanderbilt looks to go 17-0.
So far, the SEC hasn’t been able to slow down Vanderbilt, either. Vanderbilt extended its record to 16-0 against LSU on Saturday, an 84-73 result that wasn’t really as close as that score made it look: the Commodores got up by 20 in the first half and coasted, with LSU never getting the score closer than seven points after halftime. (An odd off-night from three-point range probably made the game look closer, but also, Vanderbilt shot 7-of-30 from three and won by double digits.)
Tonight, Vanderbilt heads to the Moody Center in Austin, where prior to Saturday I would have viewed the Longhorns as an underwhelming team that opened SEC play by losing to Mississippi State at home and getting run off the court at Tennessee. But then Texas won at Alabama on Saturday, and I am mildly concerned about this one.
