In a recent report on Patreon (subscription required), journalist Alan Nixon revealed that Liverpool are hoping to land Red Bull Leipzig winger Yan Diomande. It is believed that the Reds would have to rival Tottenham Hotspur in the race to land the Ivory Coast talent.
Diomande’s Impressive Rise In The Bundesliga
Diomande is having a decent campaign at the German club as he has put in a series of eye-catching displays for them in the final third. The 19-year-old has registered seven goals and earned four assists in 16 matches for RB Leipzig this season in all competitions.
The talented teenager has caught the eye with his performances on the left flank and has done well to average 2.33 shots per 90 minutes in the Bundesliga. He has kept 56.5% of his attempts on target. Diomande has even distributed possession well from the wide areas based on his pass completion rate of 81.3% in the German top tier (stats via fbref.com).
His current contract at the German club will expire in the summer of 2030. Hence, Liverpool would have to make a convincing offer if they are serious about recruiting him this year.

Liverpool Are Hoping To Land Diomande: Is He A Prospect For The Future?
Diomande is a good dribbler with the ball at his feet and can make a few dangerous runs with it out in the wide areas. He has got the vision to create some inviting chances for his teammates in the final third and can shoot the ball with power from long range.
The Ivory Coast talent can chip in by scoring and creating his fair share of goals from the flanks. However, only time will tell whether he can replicate his good form in the Premier League.
We can expect Diomande to bring more quality to Liverpool head coach Arne Slot’s frontline in the long run. He is already good enough to challenge for regular first-team football at Anfield.
At 19, the future looks quite bright for Diomande as long as he continues to improve with each year. He is undoubtedly a prospect to watch out for in the future, so the Reds would do well to bring him on board this year.
