Former UFC middleweight title challenger, Paulo Costa, is moving to light heavyweight.
That should give “The Eraser” more scale flexibility when it comes time for his pre-fight wine binge. The Brazilian recently entered “bulking season” ahead of his upcoming showdown against No. 6-ranked contender, Azamat Murzakanov, as part of the UFC 327 fight card on April 11 in Miami.
“Good morning to all of God’s sons on this blessed earth,” the 34 year-old Costa (15-4) wrote on social media. “Except for bald, chubby Russians.”
While he doesn’t outright name the undefeated Murzakanov (16-0), who is on the shorter side of the division at 5’11”, the photo below leaves little doubt where Costa’s pun was headed.
Costa may want to scale back some of his jokes considering Murzakanov has six wins under the UFC banner with five of them coming by way of brutal knockout. That includes his first-round destruction of light heavyweight veteran, Aleksandar Rakic, at UFC 321 last fall.
“The Eraser” was last seen outpointing Roman Kopylov at UFC 318 back in July.
