Azzi Fudd and Paige Bueckers have women's basketball fans constantly gushing over their relationship. Prior to the couple dating, they were teammates at UConn, and Bueckers made Fudd's nickname "The People's Princess" go viral. Fudd is opening up about the origin of the nickname long after Bueckers left UConn for the Dallas Wings.
“I think Paige made a comment about how I'm the princess because coach (Geno Auriemma) doesn't yell at me and somehow that morphed into people calling me ‘The People's Princess,’ “ Fudd laughed during her appearance on Good Game with Sarah Spain. “Yeah, I'm not really sure. I know I'm not mad about it though.”

Bueckers and Fudd first met in 2017 when they played together at USA Basketball and later became teammates at UConn, where they won the NCAA Women's Basketball National Championship. Last month, the two began trending when Fudd confirmed fans' speculation that the two were dating when she posted a selfie of herself holding a phone case that read, "Paige Bueckers' Girlfriend." The Wings rookie would then go on to confirm their romance in an interview with WAG Talk.
Earlier this month, the two were seen holding hands at a Wings game, and last week, Bueckers did not hold back on what she thought of Fudd's outfit at the 2025 ESPYs. The Wings rookie did not attend the ESPYs this year because they were playing the Las Vegas Aces that night.
