UK Basketball needs a big leap from Jasper Johnson.

Last night, Mark Pope dropped the note that Jaland Lowe would be having shoulder surgery and would be out for the remainder of the year. What might not be a surprise to many, it’s now a next-man-up situation.
For the Cats, the keys turn over to Jasper Johnson.
Johnson, a former five-star recruit out of high school, has seen sporadic minutes to this point of the year but is coming off arguably his best high-major game of the year against Mississippi State. Now with LSU on deck, we will see if he can put two games together back-to-back. The date with the Tigers will be a good test.
Overall, Johnson is one of the most talented offensive players on the roster. Able to score from all three levels and create his own shot with ease, now we get the opportunity to see his playmaking ability. Especially if Coach Pope sticks to the lineup that thrived against the Bulldogs on Saturday night, it feels like he could make some major noise with this Kentucky team in SEC play.
Should be fun to watch.
