After another unimpressive season, Maryland women’s soccer head coach Michael Marchiano made a commitment to bridge a glaring “talent gap” between the Terps and the rest of the Big Ten. After picking up seven high school recruits, Marchiano was able to secure another five fresh faces via the transfer portal.

Incoming sophomore Lilly Bane logged promising numbers for Purdue last season despite limited minutes, scoring two goals along with one assist. Bane will look to make an immediate impact on Maryland’s struggling offense. Ary Oliver, another incoming sophomore, scored a goal and notched two assists in 14 starts for Radford.

Rising junior Abigail Stager has played in 30 games across two seasons for Kentucky, scoring a single goal in just 505 minutes at the forward slot. Another forward, Jolie Farmer, comes to College Park from Penn State for her second year of eligibility after redshirting in 2024. She has only recorded one shot in 198 minutes of play.

Finally, defender Ava Paolini opted to transfer to Maryland from Florida after sitting out her freshman season due to injury.

Whether or not these additions will help the Terps climb the table in 2026 is yet to be seen.
