FC Bayern could have competition for Nico Schlotterbeck.
City to convince Palace to sell Guéhi now? (Football Insider)
Manchester City is looking to skip the line and convince Crystal Palace to sell Marc Guéhi to make a move this month. However, there is another report, which indicates that Guéhi would rather move to Bayern Munich. Foot Mercato (via ESPN) says the English center-back actually prefers a move to Bavaria over Manchester City.
First, let’s take a look at what Football Insider’s Pete O’Rourke had to say about City making an offer for the defender now:
“Every player has got his price, Palace did very well to hang onto him in the summer when they turned down that late move to Liverpool on deadline day. We know Oliver Glasner is determined to keep hold of Guehi, he’s such a key man for him, he’s the club captain as well. Crystal Palace have resigned themselves to that [letting Guehi leave for free] as well that they are happy to keep him and let him walk out on a free as well. So unless City do come up with a big big offer which is too good to turn down, I don’t think Palace will be in any rush to let him go.”
Crystal Palace may be tempted to accept a “big” offer for Marc Guehi this month as Man City plan to push to reach an agreement. Former Man United chief scout Mick Brown told Football Insider that Crystal Palace could ignore Glasner’s plans if the money on offer proves tempting.
The boss hopes to keep Guehi at Selhurst Park until the end of the season, when his contract will expire and the likes of Arsenal and Bayern Munich are expected to join the race.
However, sources say the Eagles remain happy to keep hold of Guehi until the end of the season and will only let him leave if the offer proves too good to turn down.
Speaking on the Inside Track podcast, I explained: “Yeah, if the price is right, Palace could end up selling Marc Guehi before the window closes. We all know that they’re going to lose out if nothing happens in this transfer window, Guehi will walk out on a free transfer and have his pick of clubs in the summer.
Now, here is what Foot Mercato states about which way Guéhi is leaning:
Bayern Munich hold an advantage over Manchester City when it comes to Crystal Palace centre-back Marc Guéhi, according to Foot Mercato, who suggest that the 25-year-old would prefer to move to Germany. The Bavarians hope to sign him as a free agent in the summer while City want to move now due to injuries sustained by Josko Gvardiol and Rúben Dias. Liverpool are among the Premier League clubs who have been linked with the England international, whose admirers also include Real Madrid and Barcelona.
At this point, the chances for Guéhi to move to Bayern Munich likely all depend on the future of Dayot Upamecano and Kim Min-jae. Upamecano will be a free agent this summer if he does not ink a contract extension in the coming weeks, while rumors have swirled (though he has denied them) that Kim could make a move this summer as well.

Real to make play for Gravenberch? (Fichajes via Sports Illustrated)
Real Madrid could be eyeing a move for former Bayern Munich Midfielder and current Ryan Gravenberch:
Real Madrid have been linked with the full Liverpool midfield over the past 12 months. They are again reportedly looking to pay nine figures for one of their star players, Ryan Gravenberch. The Netherlands international has been excellent since signing from Bayern Munich, and Los Blancos are ready to pay $140 million (€120 million) for the 23-year-old.
Gravenberch probably made the move to Bayern Munich too early and did exhibit immaturity when dealing with the adversity of being on the bench. Now, though, he has made strides with his play and his attitude, which have made him a very solid player. Will Liverpool be able to hang on to the Dutchman?
Stanway to Gunners? (ESPN)
Last week, FC Bayern Frauen midfielder Georgia Stanway announced that she was leaving the team after the season. Now, Stanway is being linked with Arsenal:
After the news that Georgia Stanway will be leaving Bayern Munich when her contract expires this summer, Sky Sports has suggested that Arsenal are interested in the midfielder. Early talks have already taken place between the club and player, with the 27-year-old able to sign a pre-contract agreement with foreign clubs this month, but there will be further competition for the England international from other clubs in the Women’s Super League.
Spurs eyeing Schade? (ESPN)
Tottenham Hotspur has Germany international and Brentford attacker Kevin Schade on its radar:
Tottenham Hotspur are closely monitoring Brentford forward Kevin Schade, as per Sky Germany. The Germany international, 24, is widely expected to be on the move after this summer’s World Cup. Brentford value Schade’s transfer at around the €50 million, although they still hope to renew his contract beyond 2028, while a host of other clubs retain a long-term interest in signing him.
Barca has list of center-backs to monitor (ESPN)
FC Barcelona has a list of center-backs that it is monitoring, which includes Borussia Dortmund’s Nico Schlotterbeck and Crystal Palace’s Marc Guéhi, who are both rumored to be on Bayern Munich’s wish list:
Barcelona are also keen to bring in a center back, preferably one that is left footed and probably not until the summer, and have Tottenham Hotspur star Micky van de Ven on their shortlist, according to Sport. Van de Ven, 24, has a contract until 2029 so his transfer wouldn’t come cheap, but the Netherlands international is reportedly keen to leave the club this summer. Other options who have been linked with Barcelona include Nico Schlotterbeck (Dortmund), Alessandro Bastoni (Inter), and Marc Guéhi (Crystal Palace), though the latter is right footed.
Given its rumored financial limitations, it will be interesting to see if Barca can get anything big done in the summer.
Gunners to make play for Diaz? (Fichajes via Sports Illustrated)
Arsenal might have Real Madrid attacker Brahim Diaz on its wish list:
Arsenal have reportedly made an offer to sign Real Madrid forward Brahim Diaz. The Moroccan is in unbelievable form at this year’s AFCON, and the Gunners are said to be ready to offer $58 million (€50 million). Mikel Arteta sees signing Diaz as a real opportunity, given the player’s out-of-favour status under Xabi Alonso. Other clubs also want the former Manchester City academy player.
