Report – Inter Milan Star Midfielder At Risk Of Missing Lecce Clash Due To Minor Muscle Injury

Inter Milan talisman Hakan Calhanoglu is reportedly at risk of missing the upcoming Serie A clash against Lecce.

According to Sky Sport via FCInterNews, the 31-year-old will undergo thorough evaluations for his muscle injury tomorrow.

Hakan Calhanoglu converted a penalty in yesterday’s 2-2 home draw against Napoli, scoring his seventh league goal of the season.

However, the former AC Milan midfielder had to come off late due to muscle fatigue, with Petar Sucic taking his place.

Calhanoglu is far too valuable for Inter to be risked if he isn’t fully fit, meaning the club may prefer caution and allow him extra time to recover.

Therefore, Cristian Chivu is unlikely to take any chances with the skilled playmaker unless he gets a positive update from the medical staff.

Meanwhile, Inter will take on bottom-half Lecce at San Siro on Wednesday, seeking redemption for last night’s heartbreak.

Chivu’s men will take the field as odds-on favorites to return to winning ways, which could encourage the manager to rest Calhanoglu.
