Thibaut Courtois was deeply disappointed after Real Madrid's defeat in the Spanish Super Cup final on Sunday night against FC Barcelona.
Real Madrid left Jeddah frustrated after being outplayed in the Spanish Super Cup final by FC Barcelona. Despite a generally balanced contest, the Madrid side felt they let their opportunity slip away, especially after a much-improved second half. Thibaut Courtois made no attempt to hide his disappointment at the final whistle, believing that the outcome could have easily swung in their favor.

"We deserved to win in the second half. We absolutely could have taken this match. In the first half, maybe we were a bit too cautious," admitted the Belgian goalkeeper. Courtois also lamented that the team did not make better use of Vinicius's performance: "We didn't capitalize on this version of Vini today. He was a nightmare for them and we didn't take advantage."
