The latest updates, news, and notes concerning Notre Dame Football and the transfer portal
There’s a running joke online right now which makes fun of Notre Dame for having ZERO transfer portal commitments and/or signings. As it’s been mentioned by a large number of people… that’s not going to last very long.
Early last week we stated to hear that any Notre Dame commitments made through the portal will likely be kept quiet by Notre Dame and the player until this week. As far as the reasons go, you can take a thought out of a hat and maybe it’s correct — we just don’t know why this is what the want.
The portal, however, is coming to a close which means a number of things will be coming to light. On3’s Steve Wiltfong believes that we will see a “flurry of portal commitments” very soon.
As of right now, here is a list of players Notre Dame is very much in the mix for:
DL James Smith – Alabama
DL Francis Brewu – Pitt
DL Keon Keeley – Alabama
DE Qua Russaw – Alabama
WR Mylan Graham – Ohio State
WR Quincy Porter – Ohio State
K Unnamed
We are in no way suggesting all of these players will commit to Notre Dame, and there could very well be a few other names still unknown to us — but the Irish are about to flip that “no signing” thing upside down.
One big move that has already been made was getting defensive lineman Armel Mukam back out of the portal.
Mukam made visits to schools like Georgia Tech and Virginia — but he’s staying home with the Irish.
So… it should be a big week ahead for Notre Dame, and we will just have to keep watching and waiting — but knowing things are going to get better (we think).
