Browns legend weighs in on the idea of Tommy Rees as Cleveland’s next HC

Hanford Dixon recently sat down and discussed Tommy Rees with other former players.

As everyone already knows by now, the Browns have officially interviewed current offensive coordinator Tommy Rees for their vacant head coaching position.

Although there are both positive and negative aspects to any coaching candidate, a well-respected former player, Hanford “Top Dawg” Dixon, shared his thoughts on the possibility of Rees being Cleveland’s next head coach.

On a recent episode of The Top Dawgs Show, Dixon said:

“I’ve got nothing against Tommy. But come on, guys — Tommy Rees as a head coach for the Cleveland Browns? We don’t need an experiment. We need a bona fide coach who has been there and done that.”

To be 100% honest, most members of the dawg pound probably feel the same way this time around. The Browns have always been known to go after up-and-coming offensive and defensive coordinators with very little “big game” experience under their belt.

Based on Cleveland’s current position, with an already top-notch defense and a need to assemble a winning offense, it might be best to target someone with more experience at the helm.
