Is a deal done between FC Bayern and Dayot Upamecano?
For days now, it was been rumored that all the pieces are in place for Bayern Munich and Dayot Upamecano to get done a long-awaited contract extension.
The terms of the agreement have already leaked, leaving many fans a bit unsure how to feel about the big salary bump, the massive signing bonus, and the early out exit clause with a very affordable fee attached to it.
Bayern Munich board member for sport Max Eberl wants everyone to slow their roll, however, and denied that an agreement is in place.
“What’s being written around, what you might have heard somewhere – that’s all speculation. He hasn’t agreed yet, he has everything on the table. Let’s wait and see, step by step,” Eberl told DAZN during halftime of Bayern Munich’s 8-1 win over Wolfsburg (as captured by @iMiaSanMia).
This could just be some filibustering from Eberl until something is signed and formalized, but the leaks have some fans feeling like Bayern Munich got worked over at the negotiating table. Regardless, it still seems like things are getting close, even with Eberl’s warning not to get too excited.
