In recent years, Real Madrid have appeared more open to signing English players from the Premier League, drawn by the success of Jude Bellingham.

The club have already been linked with moves for Marc Guehi and Adam Wharton this year, but according to Aston Villa star Ollie Watkins, it is emerging star Morgan Rogers who has what it takes to join Los Blancos.

Watkins endorses Real Madrid move for Rogers

In a recent interview with Sky Sports, Watkins has backed Morgan Rogers to move to a club like Real Madrid, having shown tremendous quality during his time in the Premier League.

Morgan Rogers has shown what he can do. I wouldn’t be surprised if he ended up at Real Madrid or something like that one day,” he said.

Formerly a part of Manchester City’s youth academy, Rogers has enjoyed immense success since joining Aston Villa for just €9.4 million in 2024.

An attacking midfielder by trade, he has racked up 25 goals and 23 assists in less than 100 competitive appearances for the Villans.

Rogers’ rapid breakthrough has also made him a regular with the English national team, with the Aston Villa star now putting pressure on Jude Bellingham for a regular place in the starting eleven.

Keeping his rapid breakthrough in mind, Ollie Watkins believes Rogers could be a future signing for Real Madrid.

However, any move for the English international can be ruled out as the player is simply too expensive. Not to mention, the club have a stacked creative department, which will be beefed up further with the return of Nico Paz.
