UFC CEO Dana White recently heaped high praise on the stakes in the upcoming UFC 324 women’s bantamweight title fight between Kayla Harrison and Amanda Nunes, calling it the greatest women’s fight of all-time — and he’s not the only one who feels that way.

Harrison defends her title against the returning Nunes in the co-main event of the UFC’s first event of the Paramount era on Jan. 24 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

Steve Mocco, the wrestling coach over at American Top Team where Harrison trains, was asked about White’s comments, and he couldn’t agree more with White’s assessment on the matchup

“I think it’s a big fight,” Mocco told MMA Fighting. “Yeah, I agree with him.”

Mocco is actually set to compete himself on Saturday, as he faces Egypt’s Mostafa Elders in a heavyweight freestyle wrestling match at RAF 5 at Amerant Bank Arena in Sunrise, Fla.

Mocco is familiar with Nunes as well, a past member of the ATT squad. Nunes makes her first appearance since retiring as 135-pound champ following a lopsided decision win over Irene Aldana at UFC 289 in June 2023.

As far as Harrison goes, Mocco says Harrison is one of the most motivated and detail-oriented fighters he’s ever been around — man or woman.

“She’s very good about her preparation,” Mocco explained. “She’s one of the, any sex, like, she’s a woman, but any sex, the way she handles her day-to-day preparation business is like very refreshing for me as a coach, right? She’s very refreshing to coach, and she’s very driven.

“So she’s doing a good job with it and we’re looking forward to it.”
