Former ESPN reporter Darren Rovell put a number on just how expensive Miami’s “home game” national championship has become — and you might want to bring the checkbook.
Rovell noted Friday night that the get-in cost for the College Football Playoff national championship game at Hard Rock Stadium had climbed to $3,865, including fees, for the worst available seat on StubHub.
That figure represents an increase of more than $1,200 in a matter of two days as Miami’s run continued.

Current get in for the WORST seat including fees?
$3,865!
The Hurricanes are playing for a national title in their home stadium for the first time, 24 years after their last championship. Miami punched its ticket by defeating Ole Miss 31-27 in the Fiesta Bowl, extending a seven-game winning streak. That surge included a 10-3 road win at Texas A&M in the CFP first round and a 24-10 upset of defending champion Ohio State in the Cotton Bowl.
As demand has exploded, so have prices. According to the Palm Beach Post, tickets as of Jan. 7 started at $2,610, with lower-bowl seats listed at $4,317 and premium options reaching $11,500 before Miami’s semifinal win. By Friday night, the floor had risen to $3,865, while top-end listings soared to $17,774.
