Report: Bayern Munich ‘serious’ about Kennet Eichhorn pursuit for summer

FC Bayern could already have its big transfer target for the summer.

According to a report from Sky Sport journalist Florian Plettenberg (as captured by @iMiaSanMia), Bayern Munich is going to serious pursue Hertha Berlin midfielder Kennet Eichhorn, who will be available with a very affordable release clause of €10 million to €12 million:

Bayern are now serious about signing Kennet Eichhorn from Hertha BSC in the summer. The 16-year old is a concrete target to strengthen the midfield. Max Eberl and Christoph Freund can well imagine bringing him to Munich. RB Leipzig and Borussia Dortmund are Bayern’s main competitors for the signing of Eichhorn. Top clubs abroad are also interested. Release clause: €10-12m.

There will be turnover this summer in the Bayern Munich midfield when Leon Goretzka leaves the club, which will leave Joshua Kimmich, Aleksandar Pavlović, and Tom Bischof as the only three first team midfielders left on the roster.

Adding Eichhorn would certainly enhance competition, but it could shut the door on academy players like David Santos Daiber and Javier Fernández, who might need to seek loan assignments for first team minutes.
