DONE DEAL: Oliver Irow joining Mansfield Town on loan

It appears to be Irow’s first senior loan, and it’s to League One.

Until you see otherwise, it’s probably a safe assumption that every post that starts with Done Deal on this website is either about Spurs Women, or a development loan. This is one of the latter. Tottenham Hotspur’s academy social media account posted on socials today that U21 midfielder Oliver Irow is heading out on loan to League One side Mansfield Town for the rest of the season.

Near as I can tell, this is Irow’s first professional loan. Nominally a midfielder, Irow tallied 6G+1A in just over 1000 minutes in the Premier League 2 last season, and has 3G in nine matches so far this season. At 19, he’s probably due for a loan, and starting at a League One club is an indicator that there might be something here. At minimum, if he does well he can look forward to moving up the table for another loan next season; I haven’t seen enough from Irow to know if he’s destined for the first team or not, but a good loan certainly has the possibility of kick-starting a career.

Good luck, Oliver!
