The Golden State Warriors may regret allowing the Los Angeles Lakers to steal one of their standouts from the Summer League.

The Golden State Warriors have had a quiet offseason as they have failed to make any moves outside of the 2025 NBA Draft.
Golden State also lost a key player as veteran center Kevon Looney signed with the New Orleans Pelicans in free agency, leaving the Warriors for the first time in his career.
On Monday, the Warriors lost another player as the Los Angeles Lakers stole one of their standout players from the NBA 2K26 Las Vegas Summer League.
According to ESPN’s Shams Charania, the Lakers signed Chris Manon to a two-way contract on Monday after he played for the Warriors during the California and Las Vegas Summer Leagues.
The Los Angeles Lakers plan to sign 7-footer Christian Koloko and forward Chris Manon on two-way NBA contracts, sources tell ESPN. Manon, undrafted out of Vanderbilt, played for the Warriors in California and Las Vegas summer leagues. Koloko played 37 games for L.A. last season.

Of course, Manon went undrafted in the 2025 draft out of Vanderbilt and he entered the Summer League with something to prove and he was able to do just that.
In his five games in Las Vegas, Manon averaged 11.0 points, 5.2 rebounds, 2.0 assists, 1.4 steals and 1.6 blocks per game while shooting 50.0% from the field and 50.0% from three-point range.
Manon was the Warriors best and most consistent player during Summer League and they may regret allowing the Lakers to steal him away from them.

That would be due to their lack of depth in the guard position, along with their failure to make any moves thus far this offseason.
Of course, the Warriors are still awaiting a decision by restricted free agent Jonathan Kuminga but they could have at least signed Manon to a two-way contract, or at least a veteran’s minimum contract after he showed out in Las Vegas.
Instead, Manon will head to the Lakers where he will likely spend most of the season in the G League but could also play a key role for them off the bench if he is given the chance.
