The NBA offseason has quieted down with many of the top free agents already landing new deals and the Las Vegas Summer League coming to a close on Sunday night.

Despite this, there are still many key players who remain free agents who could all be beneficial additions to contending teams’ rosters heading into next season.

Among the remaining free agents is former Detroit Pistons veteran guard Malik Beasley who was recently named as the third-best free agent remaining behind Josh Giddey and Jonathan Kuminga by HoopsHype.

“Finished second in made three-pointers this past season while shooting 41.6 percent from three. A confident shooter from the outside with a quick release and good rise on his jumper. One of the best shooting specialists in the league right now,” HoopsHype’s staff wrote.

Of course, Beasley had an incredible season last year with the Pistons as he was one of the best three-point shooters in the NBA, though his offseason got off to a rocky start.

It was reported that Beasley is being investigated due to gambling-related allegations, which caused the Pistons to end contract talks to bring him back next season.

These are serious allegations for Beasley as his future in the NBA is now up in the air, though he would be a solid addition to any contender’s roster as long as he is able to clear the allegations.

Last season, the 28-year-old guard averaged 16.3 points, 2.6 rebounds, 1.7 assists and 0.9 steals per game while shooting 43.0% from the field and 41.6% from three-point range in his first season in Detroit.

Beasley also finished second in Sixth Man of the Year voting last season after he helped lead the Pistons to a playoff appearance.

The veteran guard is a knockdown three-point shooter that most contenders are looking for this offseason, though it will be interesting to see whether any team will take a chance on him during his investigation.
