The flame still burns for Edoardo Bove.

The Roma midfielder, who nearly lost his life on December 1, 2024, has no intention of giving up and, despite the difficulties, is ready to resume his playing career.

His choice, however, will no longer be tied to Serie A, but could take him abroad, where he could return to competitive football.

Bove is now close to terminating his contract with Roma, with which he has an agreement until June 2028.

The termination of his contract includes a severance package, considering that the midfielder still has two and a half years left on his contract worth €1.8 million per season.

As Il Messaggero reports, if he were to remain at Trigoria, Bove would continue to earn approximately €4.3 million, but without the possibility of returning to Serie A due to current regulations.

For this reason, Bove’s choice was to look abroad, where the opportunities are more concrete. In England, two clubs have already made their interest in the player: Everton and Watford.

Everton, owned by the Friedkin Group, which also owns Roma, represents an important option for Bove, offering the chance to play in the Premier League, one of the most competitive leagues in the world. Furthermore, Bove’s salary could reduce the Giallorossi’s wage bill.

Watford, on the other hand, plays in the Championship, England’s second division, but remains an attractive option for the midfielder.

The less media-heavy tournament could be ideal for allowing Bove to gradually recover, regaining confidence and match rhythm, without the pressure of a first-division championship. A

nd it’s not just England, though. The Dutch transfer market remains a possible scenario, thanks to regulations and a medical approach that could facilitate Bove’s return to competitive activity.
