The Bills will wear a new city-inspired uniform for an AFC East game in 2025. Could it feature the charging buffalo logo, chicken wings or snowstorms?
Buffalo’s wardrobe makeover isn’t done yet.
Fresh off announcing throwback looks for the franchise’s final season at Highmark Stadium, the Bills are getting a brand-new alternate uniform, one designed to capture the soul of the city and worn for just one special rivalry game each year.
Buffalo’s upcoming alternate uniform will debut as part of Nike’s new “Rivalries” program, which launches this season for AFC East and NFC West team.
It’s the third unique look the Bills will wear this season. The team already announced it will bring back its iconic red helmets for the Week 18 finale at Highmark Stadium, paying tribute to the Super Bowl-era Bills of 1990s. They’ll also suit up in a throwback standing Buffalo look twice this season, once on the road in Atlanta (Week 5) and once at home against Tampa Bay (Week 11).
USA TODAY described the Rivalries line as similar to the NBA’s “City Edition” and MLB’s “City Connect” collections, stylized alternates rooted in local culture and team history. Each participating team will get a new helmet and uniform combination that will be part of their rotation through at least 2028.
The Bills will be joined by the Miami Dolphins, New England Patriots, New York Jets, Arizona Cardinals, Los Angeles Rams, San Francisco 49ers and Seattle Seahawks in 2025. Eight NFL teams will be added to the Rivalries line each year through the 2028 season.
“Each participating team will wear a unique Rivalries uniform with designs rooted extensively in local community insights during a single home game against a division rival," the NFL said. "The designs have been brought to life by pulling inspiration from the history of each market and the aspects of the community that only that team’s city embodies.”
