Ryan Day sent a clear Arch Manning Message.
Ryan Day Delivers Verdict on Arch Manning Before 'Monster' Game Against Texas originally appeared on Athlon Sports.
College football fans may not have to wait long for the matchup of the year in 2025, as the Texas Longhorns and the Ohio State Buckeyes will face off in Week 1.
The two teams played in the College Football Playoff semifinal this past season, with the Buckeyes winning that game and going on to beat Notre Dame in the title. While there are some holdovers on both rosters, the two teams had 26 players drafted in 2025, which means there will be some new faces stepping up.
The most notable in this game, and arguably in the sport, is Texas quarterback Arch Manning. The nephew of Peyton and Eli Manning has drawn comparisons to Tim Tebow in terms of hype, and also hails from the most famous family in football.
Ohio State head coach Ryan Day was asked about him on Tuesday at Big Ten Media Day and had nothing but nice things to say about the Longhorns' signal caller.
"Arch is a tremendous talent," Day said. "One of the best talents, young guys to come in through college football in a long time. And I think he's going to be very, very good. One of the best quarterbacks in the country this year. So we know that the challenge is going to be Week 1. We're working towards that. We're fired up about having this monster game in Week 1."
The Longhorns will look to continue their streak of major road wins, as they beat Alabama in Tuscaloosa in 2023 and Michigan in Ann Arbor this past season.
When is Texas vs. Ohio State?
This year's match-up will have both ESPN's "College GameDay" and Fox's "Big Noon Kickoff" in attendance, with the game airing at Noon ET.
As it stands right now, Ohio State is 2.5-point favorites.
