Chelsea have moved swiftly to appoint Liam Rosenior as head coach.
The Blues have chosen the Englishman following the club’s decision to part ways with Enzo Maresca on New Year’s Day.
Maresca left Chelsea after a breakdown in relations with the club and a run of disappointing results.
They recorded one win from the last seven Premier League games, leaving them 15 points adrift of leaders Arsenal.
Chelsea handed Rosenior a long-term contract that runs until 2032.
Chelsea believe he has the profile and modern coaching pedigree to stabilise the project and return the club to sustained contention at the top end of the Premier League.
Rosenior arrives in west London fresh from an impressive stint at RC Strasbourg.
The 41-year-old guided the Ligue 1 side to European qualification for the first time in 19 years during his debut season in France.
That achievement, coupled with earlier work in England at Hull City and Derby County, has elevated his reputation.
He has established himself as a coach capable of implementing a clear playing identity while developing young talent.
Speaking after his appointment, Rosenior described the role as an honour and underlined his commitment to Chelsea’s winning tradition.
He stressed the importance of protecting the club’s identity, fostering unity within the squad and ensuring supporters could be proud of what they see on the pitch every week.
Rosenior also highlighted teamwork, togetherness and high standards as the foundations he intends to build on.
Chelsea’s hierarchy believe those principles align closely with the club’s long-term vision.
While player development remains central, expectations remain uncompromising, with Rosenior tasked with extracting immediate results from a talented squad.
For Rosenior, it represents the biggest step of his managerial career so far.
For Chelsea, it is another big gamble in their ongoing attempt to reassert themselves among England and Europe’s elite.
