After Jacarrius Peak announced his decision to enter the portal on Sunday (I had been under the impression he was going to the Draft, but apparently not!), NC State quickly moved to fill that void with the addition of former ECU offensive tackle Jimarion McCrimon, who spent this season at left tackle.
NC State also got much-needed good news on the retention front, as both Spike Sowells and Teague Andersen have agreed to return for 2026. Andersen spent all year playing right tackle but it wouldn’t surprise me if he ended up as Peak’s replacement on the left side. McCrimon obviously will be expected to fill one of the starting tackle spots regardless.
And Sowells’ return was crucial not just for his potential but also his ability to play either guard or center. That’s some helpful flexibility as State continues to hurriedly recruit for offensive line reinforcements during the portal window. Stay tuned as developing developments continue developing.
