Matteo Guendouzi seems increasingly likely to leave Lazio, but options include Atletico Madrid, Galatasaray, Fenerbahce, Sunderland and Newcastle United.

According to Sportitalia and Radio Sei, a meeting is planned over the next 24 hours between Guendouzi’s agent and the hierarchy at Lazio.

The midfielder had been relatively content at the Stadio Olimpico, but the mood now is pushing him towards the exit so that Maurizio Sarri can secure reinforcements in key roles.

Now the meeting with his agent will present some of the proposals and consider the conditions required for a January exit.

Sunderland and Newcastle United had already approached Guendouzi in the summer, but there is now strong competition from both Fenerbahce and Galatasaray.

It is reported they are prepared to offer €27m including add-ons to purchase the Frenchman.

Another intriguing alternative is Atletico Madrid, with suggestions that would be the preferred destination for the player.

Lazio paid €14m to purchase him from Olympique Marseille in 2024, plus up to a further €5m in performance-related bonuses.

They will also owe 10 per cent of the sell-on fee to the Ligue 1 side.
