Former Inter Milan president Massimo Moratti slammed Al-Hilal manager Simone Inzaghi during his latest interview.

Speaking to Radio Kiss Kiss via FCInterNews, the 80-year-old delivered a brutal verdict on Inzaghi’s tenure at San Siro.

Simone Inzaghi won six major titles during his four-year stint at Inter, including the club’s landmark 20th Scudetto in 2024.

Furthermore, the 45-year-old guided the Nerazzurri to two Champions League finals in three years.

However, Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain denied Inter their first triumph at Europe’s top table since 2010.

Indeed, Jose Mourinho remains the last Nerazzurri boss to lift the Champions League trophy with the club.

Meanwhile, Inzaghi made a sudden decision to part ways with Inter at the end of last season and take charge of Al-Hilal.

He chose the riches of Saudi Arabia at the expense of cementing his legacy with the San Siro giants.

On the other hand, Inter appointed Cristian Chivu as his replacement.

Based on Inter’s performances in the first half of the season, Inzaghi’s exit could prove a blessing in disguise.

Inzaghi’s decision to leave Inter only a month after a humiliating loss in Munich didn’t sit well with Moratti.

“When Simone Inzaghi left, in my view, he left in a bad way,” Moratti said. “I didn’t like how it all happened.

“He tried to imitate José Mourinho, but it was a poor imitation, because Mou had won the Treble.”

Moreover, he hailed Inter’s courageous choice for the post-Inzaghi era.

“I would have entrusted my Inter to Antonio Conte,” he added.

“Even so, the choice of Cristian Chivu was intelligent and courageous, because he’s very good and he’s found the right balance.”

Finally, Moratti praised Inter’s long-term target, Nico Paz.

“It’s a pleasure to watch how Luka Modric moves.
