(WFRV) — The first 2026 edition of the Battle of the Bridge lived up to the hype. West De Pere became the first FRCC team to knock off De Pere since February 2022, edging its crosstown rival 66–64 on Saturday night.
De Pere entered the matchup riding a 66-game winning streak against conference opponents, including the playoffs, but it was the Phantoms who played spoiler in front of a packed home crowd to snap the historic run.
With the win, West De Pere and De Pere are now both 6–1 overall and 3–1 in the FRCC, joining Bay Port, Sheboygan North, and Notre Dame Academy in a five-way tie atop the conference standings.
